KABUL (Pajhwok): The Meteorology Department of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation has issued a warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds and possible flash floods across 24 provinces of Afghanistan.
The department stated that tomorrow (Sunday, April 5) heavy rain, thunderstorms, and flooding are expected in Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Badghis, Faryab, Jawzjan, Balkh, Sar-i-Pul, Ghor, Daikundi, Uruzgan, Helmand, Kandahar, Baghlan, Samangan, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
Rainfall in these provinces is forecast to range from 10 to 35 millimetres in different areas.
The Meteorology Department also reported that strong winds, reaching speeds of 50 to 85 kilometres per hour, are expected in the western, southern and northern regions.
Authorities have urged citizens to closely follow weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to protect their lives and property from potential hazards.
