KABUL (Pajhwok): One child has been killed and three others wounded in an old mortar shell blast in the capital of southeastern Khost province, police said on Monday.
In a statement, the police headquarters said the incident occurred in the Mardikhel area of Khost city on Sunday.
It said one child lost his life and three others were injured in the explosion.
The statement added the injured were evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.
Police urged residents to stay away from unexploded ordnance.
