KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 11 people have been killed and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas in Lebanon, media reports said on Monday.
According to Reuters, the strikes marked one of the most intense days of fighting since the conflict escalated last month.
Lebanon’s health ministry said that an Israeli airstrike on the village of Kfarhata in southern Lebanon killed seven people on Sunday, including a four-year-old child.
In a separate strike, four people were killed and 39 others injured in the Jnah neighborhood of Beirut, the ministry added.
Explosions and the sound of warplanes were heard across Beirut throughout the day, while state media reported that the southern suburbs of the capital were hit by multiple air raids.
Officials say that since the start of the conflict, more than 1,460 people have been killed in Lebanon and over one million have been displaced.
