3 women killed, 2 children injured as wall collapses in Khost

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Three women have been killed and two children injured after a wall collapsed in southeastern Khost province following heavy rainfall and flash floods, an official said on Tuesday.

Mustaghfar Gurbaz, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident occurred on Monday in Gingini village, located in the Maton area of the provincial capital.

He explained that the wall collapsed as a result of recent rainfall, which had weakened its structure.

Gurbaz added that the injured children were taken to a nearby health facility, where they are receiving treatment and their condition is being closely monitored.

In recent days, similar incidents across several provinces have claimed at least 110 lives and left around 160 others injured.
