KABUL (Pajhwok): Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi have discussed bilateral ties, expanded cooperation and key regional developments.
Muttaqi held a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi today (Wednesday), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement.
It said the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in bilateral ties and important regional issues.
Muttaqi described the current level of cooperation as positive and improving, expressing satisfaction over increased trade and broader collaboration in various sectors.
He also termed the diplomatic approach between Iran and the United States a constructive step and emphasised resolving issues through dialogue and negotiations.
For his part, Araghchi described the growing bilateral relations as encouraging and shared his views on further expanding cooperation.
He also briefed his Afghan counterpart on the latest developments in talks between Iran and the United States.
