Pezeshkian calls US naval blockade ‘intolerable’

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that the US naval blockade of Iranian ports amounts to an “extension of military operations” by Washington and is “intolerable”.

Pezeshkian wrote on his X account: “The world has witnessed Iran’s tolerance and peace-seeking nature. What is being carried out under the name of a maritime blockade is an extension of military operations against a nation that is merely paying the cost of its resistance and independence.”

He added: “The continuation of this unjust approach is intolerable.”

US President Donald Trump, following the failure of talks with Iran in Islamabad, ordered a maritime blockade of the country’s ports and coastal areas.
