KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has announced that Abu Muslim Farah Club, the reigning champion of Afghanistan’s Premier Football League, has secured the official AFC Club License, paving the way for its participation in the playoff stage of the 2026–27 AFC Challenge League.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the AFF said Abu Muslim Farah successfully fulfilled all criteria and requirements set by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), with support from the federation, to obtain the prestigious license.

The statement said: “Abu Muslim Farah Football Club, after meeting all AFC Club Licensing requirements in cooperation with the Afghanistan Football Federation, has successfully obtained the AFC license to participate in the playoff stage of the 2026–27 AFC Challenge League.”

The AFC Club License is one of the key prerequisites for participation in official continental competitions. It reflects a club’s compliance with AFC standards in governance, technical development, legal affairs, financial management, and infrastructure.

The AFF congratulated the club’s management, players, and supporters on the achievement, describing the license as a significant milestone for both Abu Muslim Farah and Afghan football.

Abu Muslim Farah has won the Afghanistan Premier Football League title twice, in the Afghan calendar years 1403 and 1404.

The club has also finished as runner-up once and has emerged as one of the rising forces in Afghan football through consistent performances and the recruitment of national team players over the past two seasons.
