HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Two alleged armed robbers were killed in a clash with security forces in the Injil district of western Herat province on Thursday, an official said.
Dr. Sayed Masoud Hosseini, spokesman for the Herat police, said the suspects were identified by security forces while they were allegedly engaged in criminal activities.
According to him, the men resisted arrest after being confronted and opened fire, triggering an armed exchange.
Hosseini said both suspects were killed during the shootout.
He added that security forces remain fully prepared to ensure public safety and combat criminal activity, stressing that any violations of the law will be dealt with firmly.
The spokesman also urged citizens to cooperate with security forces by reporting suspicious individuals and assisting efforts to maintain public security.
