KABUL (Pajhwok): The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised Indian citizens against travelling to Iran and urged those currently in the country to leave using available transport options, citing recent developments in the region.

According to reports, Iran targeted a number of sites in Israel on Monday, while Israel also carried out strikes on targets inside Iran.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported that Iran closed the airspace around Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport following the attacks.

The Economic Times, citing a statement from the Indian Embassy in Tehran, reported: “In view of the latest developments in the region, the Embassy reiterates its earlier advice to all Indian nationals to avoid any travel to Iran. Indian nationals presently in Iran are also advised to exit the country by available means of transport.”

The Indian Embassy in Tehran said it is closely monitoring the situation in Iran.
