KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a telephone conversation with Rosemary DiCarlo, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides exchanged views on the delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable Afghans and ways to improve the effectiveness of aid distribution.
The statement said the UN deputy secretary-general appreciated the cooperation and facilitation provided by the Islamic Emirate for humanitarian operations, describing it as important for the timely and effective delivery of aid.
DiCarlo also briefed the Afghan side on recent developments related to the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and the organization’s ongoing activities in the country.
At the end of the call, both sides emphasized continued mutual understanding, constructive engagement, and the expansion of cooperation.
