KABUL (Pajhwok): Minister of Justice Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Sharaei has called on private hospital officials and doctors to provide quality services to the public and refrain from all forms of political party activities.
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) said in a statement that Sharaei made the remarks during a meeting with representatives, officials and doctors of private hospitals.
He said doctors hold a respected position in serving humanity and society and should recognise the importance of their responsibilities.
Sharaei stressed that honour in this world and the hereafter comes through serving people, urging private hospitals to make sincere efforts to improve healthcare services and ensure public satisfaction.
“Private hospital officials should refrain from all forms of political party activities and affiliations because political parties are banned in the country. Such activities do not bring positive results, and it is also inappropriate for doctors to be affiliated with political parties or organisations,” he said.
The minister also discussed the activities of the Private Hospitals Association and the appointment of its new leadership, emphasising that the body should operate in line with the principles and laws of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).
Representatives of private hospitals briefed the minister on the association’s activities and assured him that they would operate within the framework of the country’s laws and regulations.
