KABUL (Pajhwok): Nearly 100 American service members have been injured in multiple Iranian airstrikes on US military bases in the Middle East this month, US officials have said.

According to CBS News, Pentagon Chief Spokesman Sean Parnell said nearly 100 personnel “were deemed to have some degree of injury” since July 7, 2026, with 96 percent having already returned to duty.

“They are determined to get back in the fight. The vast majority of injuries experienced were minor concussions,” Parnell said.

The injuries come amid escalating hostilities between the United States and Iran following the collapse of a months-long ceasefire between the two countries.

CBS News reported that the US military has carried out nightly strikes on Iranian targets for more than a week, saying the operations are aimed at preventing attacks on commercial shipping.

Iran has responded by launching strikes on US assets in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and other US-allied states.

The report said several US service members were injured at military bases in Jordan last week.

Over the weekend, the Pentagon announced that two American soldiers were killed at a military base in Jordan, while unidentified remains were found at the location where a third US service member had gone missing.

Another US service member was killed in Iraq during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone.

The Pentagon has not publicly disclosed the exact number of injured personnel or the extent of damage caused by the latest Iranian attacks.
