KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran’s Foreign Minister has warned that any attack on the country, particularly on its infrastructure, would face a decisive response from Tehran, saying parties involved in or supporting such actions would also be considered “legitimate targets”.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi said in a post on X on Thursday that Iran’s defence doctrine was clear and based on “an eye for an eye” approach.

“Any aggression against Iran, including attacks on our infrastructure, will compel a powerful and decisive response,” he said.

Araghchi added that countries or groups involved in such actions, or those providing support, would also be viewed by Tehran as “legitimate targets”.

His remarks came after US President Donald Trump recently warned that if Iran continued attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, Washington would target Iranian bridges and power plants.
