KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has appointed Shakirullah Ebrahimi, an experienced and recognised figure in Afghan football, as head of its Referees Committee.
In a statement, the federation said Ebrahimi has been actively involved in football refereeing since 2012 and has worked as an instructor for Afghan referees since 2019, helping train officials and improve their professional capacity.
The statement added that Ebrahimi holds several internationally recognised qualifications from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), including coaching and goalkeeping coaching licences, as well as a futsal refereeing certificate.
The AFF said Ebrahimi has previously served in several administrative and technical roles within football organisations.
According to the federation, he has headed the Kandahar Football Referees Committee, Goalkeepers Committee, Youth Committee, Futsal Committee and Judicial Committee. He has also served as financial and administrative officer and deputy technical director of the Kandahar Football Federation.
