KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s U-20 national football team has travelled to Bahrain to compete in the qualifiers for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports said.
In a statement, the department said the 23-member Afghan squad had departed for Bahrain to participate in the qualifying matches.
Afghanistan have been placed in Group D alongside Bahrain, Jordan and Tajikistan.
The Afghan team will play its opening match against Jordan on 31 August.
The 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers will feature 44 teams, including Afghanistan, with Bahrain hosting the matches.
The qualifiers are scheduled to run from 31 August to 6 September.
