KABUL (Pajhwok): The US military says four people have been killed in a strike on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea.

Reuters reported, citing the US Southern Command, that the command said on X it had carried out a “lethal, kinetic strike” on a high-speed vessel operating along established drug-trafficking routes in the Caribbean.

The command said, based on “verified intelligence,” that the vessel was involved in drug trafficking, but provided no further details.

US officials described the four people killed as “narco-terrorists.”

The administration of US President Donald Trump has said vessels targeted by US forces since September 2025 were involved in drug trafficking.

According to Reuters, US strikes on vessels in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean have killed more than 220 people so far.

However, legal experts and human rights organisations in the US and elsewhere have questioned the legality of the strikes.
