KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has praised Afghan teachers, particularly those who continue teaching in rural and remote areas despite limited resources and difficult conditions, on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day.
In a message marking the day, UNAMA said on Facebook: “On Teacher’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable people who shape lives, inspire minds, and build the foundations of peaceful and prosperous societies.”
“A special tribute to Afghan teachers, particularly those in rural communities, who continue to teach with dedication despite difficult conditions, limited resources and immense challenges,” the UN mission said.
UNAMA added that the role of teachers has become more important than ever in a world increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, social media and the spread of misinformation and disinformation.
The UN mission thanked all teachers for the knowledge they impart, the guidance they provide to future generations, and the hope and motivation they help keep alive.
