KABUL (Pajhwok): A man and his friend have been killed with an axe by his sons during a dispute over agricultural land in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a media report said on Monday.
Geo News reported, citing police, that the man had travelled to the Kolo Tarar area of Hafizabad to help resolve a land dispute between his friend and the friend’s sons. A verbal altercation subsequently broke out between the father and his sons.
Police said the suspects, allegedly instigated by their mother, attacked and killed their father and his friend with an axe.
According to the local police chief, a case has been registered against the alleged killers and their mother at Vanike Tarar police station following a complaint lodged by another son of the deceased man.
One suspect has been arrested, while efforts are under way to apprehend the remaining suspects.
