HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The first direct flight from Herat’s Khwaja Abdullah Ansari International Airport to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been launched, carrying more than 50 passengers.
In a statement, the governor’s house said the flight was operated by Kam Air and that the airline would operate a direct flight between Herat and Dubai once a week, on Tuesdays.
The statement said the new route would allow passengers to travel directly between Herat and Dubai without having to travel to Kabul first.
Some passengers welcomed the launch of the route, saying direct flights between the two cities would help reduce travel time and costs.
Previously, air travellers from Herat to Dubai had to travel to Kabul first before taking a connecting flight to Dubai.
