ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s lawless tribal region of Khyber, an official said on Friday.
The armed conflict between gunmen loyal to Lashkar-i-Islami, a militant group led by notorious commander, Mangal Bagh, and a tribal militia force of Zakha Khel tribe broke out in Terah valley on Thursday evening, an official at the political agent’s office, Jan Alam Afridi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Both sides have used heavy weaponry during the fight that began in the evening and stretched into the morning, he added. Four people from both sides were killed and six others sustained injuries, Afridi said, adding security forces based in the area did not interfere.
Resident Qadir Shinwari said the situation was increasingly worsening and people had started leaving for other areas.
“Our life is hell. The government should take action against armed men fighting each other in our area,” Shinwari said.
The groups have been fighting over the past two months. So far more than 70 people have been killed and hundreds of others wounded in the fight.
