PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): A teacher, who was gang-raped in northern Baghlan province more than a week ago, on Monday asked the government to award exemplary punishment to her abusers.
On November 26, the 20 years old Fahima was raped by three men at gun-point after kidnapping her in Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital.
The schoolteacher was abducted from the eighth road of Baghlan-i-Markazi district, said Col. Mohammad Kamin, the district police chief. The abductors released the victim in the Salamkhel area after subjecting her to sexual aggression.
On Tuesday, police claimed arresting two suspects in connection with the case.
One of the rapists was identified as Feroz, who was arrested along with a co-accused on Monday night, the deputy police chief said.
Fahima told Pajhwok Afghan News she wanted to kill the abusers herself. “I ask the government to let me kill them,” she said, demanding the early arrest of the third rapist.
The incident had spread fear among other teachers. “Since the incident has happened, my colleagues and me have been coming to school in a state of fear,” said Mariam, a teacher at the Baladuroi Girls’ School in Pul-i-Khumri, said.
