New shopping mall opens in Kabul

<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a>): The biggest-ever shopping centre, a<span> $22 million (1,078 million afghanis)</span> project, was opened <span>in the Afghan capital Kabul</span>, an official said on Monday.</p>

<!--break--><p><a href="/en/afghanistan" class="glossify-link">Afghanistan</a> Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) head, members of parliament and traders participated at the inaugural ceremony for the shopping mall that was inaugurate in Shahr-i-Naw locality.</p>

<p>Up to $12 million were spent on construction of the eight-storey building, with  merchandise worth<span> $10 million. The</span> mall has construction, electronic materials, daily-use items and a gym, Mansoor Majeed, the centre owner, told Pajhwok Afghan News.</p>

<p>The centre would serve as a great asset in the country's <span>economic improvement </span>, the ACCI <span>head</span> Mohammad Qurban Haqjo said.</p>

<p>He asked the government to ensure security for the capital of traders to encourage other Afghan and foreign investors to invest in the country.</p>

<p>Majeed said he planned establish similar business centres in Herat City, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Jalalabad in the future.</p>
