KABUL peace envoys.
“The Afghan government supports the peace parleys held in Paris. Such events should take place inside Afghanistan,” foreign ministry spokesma Janan Musazai told a press briefing in Kabul.
“Now in Afghanistan, we have a favourable environment for inter-Afghans peace,” he said, assuring anti-government groups security and safety if they wanted to join the national reconciliation.
“Afghanistan doesn’t oppose negotiations with the Taliban in a third country, but such talks are possible only when the Taliban have an office there. The office be established with agreement of the host country and the Afghan government,” he said.
The government has finalised some rules for the proposed Taliban office in Qatar, said Musazai, adding an agreement on the bureau with the Qatari leadership was being discussed.
To a query, he said the Taliban and their leaders could launch political activities in Afghanistan.
