MAIMANA (PAN): One woman was killed and 16 others were injured in a bomb explosion in the Pashtunkot district of northern Faryab province on Wednesday, officials said.
The blast took place at 10am close to a health clinic in the Takhta Bazaar village, the district’s administrative head, Abdul Qadir Qadiri, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The explosives were attacked to a motorbike, he said, adding the injured included six men, five women, three policemen and a child.
Police spokesman Syed Masood Yaqubi said the injured were evacuated to the main provincial hospital. He blamed armed rebels for the bomb attack.
A doctor on duty at Afghan-Turk hospital, Asadullah Qane, said six of the injured brought to the hospital were in critical condition.
