KABUL): President Hamid Karzai on Saturday ordered the creation of a board for investigating cases of inmates of the Bagram prison in central Parwan province, his office said.
The orders came at a meeting that was chaired by Karzai and attended by the chief justice, the justice minister, advisor on national security, acting attorney-general and other officials.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said the departments concerned had been directed to set up a board to probe the cases of Bagram prisoners.
The board will have to present its report to the president at the next meeting, whose date was not given. Full control of the Bagram jail was ceded to Afghan government last week.
