Pakistan blamed for letting rebels sneak into Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN, the Governor’s Office said on Thursday.

In a statement, the governor’s office said insurgents, who crossed the border into the Maroof district on Wednesday night, attacked border police posts in Aala Jirga area.

Eight intruders were killed in the ensuing clash with Afghan border police, the statement said, adding weapons and the dead bodies of insurgents remained at the clash site.

“The fighters who came across a Pakistani post near the border did not move to prevent them from entering the Afghan area,” the statement said.
