BAMYAN CITY (PAN): Six people were killed as a result of a dispute over a soil din the Sherbar district of central Bamyan province on Monday, officials said.
The clash happened in the Toghi village of the district at about 10am, the provincial police spokesman, Mohammad Hassan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Zikrullah gunned down Fazluddin before the victim’s relatives shot dead five relatives of the killer, who was also injured in the fire exchange.
A team had been sent to the area to investigate the incident, but no one had been detained so far in connection with the killings, the police spokesman added.
Separately, Taliban fighters shot dead one worker of a marble mine and kidnapped 10 others in the Sail Borda area of Behsud district, said the town’s acting police chief, Col. Najibullah.
The attackers also set on fire the marble extraction company’s office, a pickup, a generator, a fuel tanker, two loaders, an excavator and a stone-breaking machine. The assailants took away four Kalashnikovs and 10 walkie-talkies.
