KABUL): Three Pakistani teachers at a private university in Kabul have died in a traffic accident on the Kabul-Torkham road, an official said on Wednesday.
The Pakistanis, who taught at the Kardan University in Kabul, were killed as a result of the accident that took place a day earlier in the Ghanikhel district of eastern Nangahar province, the university official, Sardar Wali, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He identified the deceased as Shahid Khan, Omar Khayyam and Amjid Ali, saying they were their way to Peshawar to celebrate Eid holidays with families.
Nangarhar Civil Hospital director Dr. Baz Mohammad Sherzad said the accident took place late on Tuesday. The Pakistanis were travelling in a passenger car which crashed into a truck. He said a fourth person was also killed in the crash.
The dead bodies have been taken to the Ghanikhel hospital and would be handed over to their families today, Sherzad said.
