KABUL airstrike and a clash with police in Maidan Wardak and Paktika provinces, officials said on Saturday.
The airstrike took place on Friday night in the Alikhel area of the Jalrez district in Maidan Wardak, the governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He added Afghan forces separately detained a Taliban leader in the Onakhi area of Syedabad district.
In southeastern Paktika, fighters stormed a police post in Gayan district, sparking a gun-battle that left one policeman and seven attackers dead, the provincial police chief said.
Gen. Dawlat Khan Zadran said another 10 militants and one policeman were injured during the clash that lasted one hour. The rebels fled after suffering casualties.
On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed a number of police were killed and wounded during the attack.
