Ghor agriculture director detained

CHAGHCHIRAN (PAN province has been arrested over alleged embezzlement of funds and misuse of authority, an official said on Monday.

Ghor Court of Appeals head Gul Ahmad Haidari told Pajhwok Afghan News that Agriculture Director Fariduddin Abid had been detained by provincial prosecutors due in connection with several cases of fund misappropriation.

With the case against the director under investigation by the attorney office, the official would not go into details.

But another source said on condition of anonymity that Abid had been charged with selling 200 bags of wheat that the Ministry of Agriculture had provided to the department for distribution to growers.
