GHAZNI CITY (PAN’s ranks if their outstanding salaries were not paid, a senior police officer warned on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Ghulam Mohiuddin, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News 38 of the 100 ALP personnel had been deployed to Ajristan after they completed a basic professional training programme. But the force was dissolved after sometime and its salaries remain unpaid.
He feared the 37 men could join the Taliban in anti- government activities if their salaries were not cleared. However, the police chef explained the men were fighting against the insurgents at the moment.
Gen. Mohiuddin urged the Ministry of Interior to pave the ground for airlifting basic supplies to Ajristan, one the remote and restive districts of Ghazni. Deputy Interior Minister of Public Order had promised during a recent visit to the province to share the district’s problems with his seniors.
Resident Mohammad Rauf described the security situation in Ajristan as grave, saying most parts of the district were under Taliban’s control. He called for increasing the ALP presence in the district.
