ISLAMABAD (Pajhwok): Nine people, including children and militants, were killed and several others wounded on Monday when a bomb ripped through the residence of a tribal elder in Pakistan’s restive northwestern tribal region of Khyber.
The bomb exploded at the house of Hakeem Khan Akakhel in a remote village of Tirah valley, local administration official Nasir Khan told reporters. The dead included three children and as suspected militants.
The rebels belonged to outlawed group called Lashkar-i-Islam, Khan said, adding: “We are trying to ascertain the exact nature of the blast.” The injured were shifted to local hospital for medical treatment.
