TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Uruzgan Governor Amanullah Timuri on Thursday directed all civil and military officials in the central province to remain neutral during Saturday’s elections.
At a meeting in Tirinkot, Timuri made clear no government official was allowed to use state resources for or against any presidential or provincial council runner.
Independent Election Commission (IEC) head for Uruzgan Abdul Hamid Sharifi told participants there was no major impediment to the polls in the province.
He said only one of 56 polling stations in Uruzgan would remain closed on Election Day, April 5.
