SADABAD (Pajhwok): Two militants’ commanders were killed in International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) airstrike in eastern Kunar province on Tuesday, an official said.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Sayedkhel, provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the attack was carried out in Sawkhur locality on the outskirts of Narrai district.
Notorious Taliban commanders Zarqawi and Ghulamullah alias Hammad had been killed in the strike, he said, adding Zarqawi was a Pakistani rebel.
Both the slain commanders were expert in mine plantings and involved in carrying out attacks on security forces.
However, Taliban have not commented on the incident.
