GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Leading Presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Saturday made clear no one would be allowed to spread linguistic and ethnic fanaticism or frictions among the Afghans.
Addressing a mammoth gathering in connection with his poll campaign in southeastern Paktika province, Abdullah urged thousands of people to vote for his team for the sake of reforms and security.
He promised to create job opportunities for the people of the strategically important province. If elected to power, he will build the Machalgho power dam and declare Paktia a first-grade province.
“I have all respect for ethnicities, religions and languages. I will not allow anyone to trample on the rights of any tribe or ethnic group if I win the election,” he reiterated.
Abdul Rehman Mangal, Abdullah’s campaign manager in the province, said that ex-foreign minister enjoyed more support in Paktika than his rival.
Abdullah’s victory would spur development projects in the province, he said, urging people to cast their vote in favour of him.
