KABUL (Pajhwok): For the first time, a Digital Television Broadcasting System (DTBS) has been launched in the capital Kabul on Sunday.
Amirzai Sangin, Minister for Information Technology and Broadcasting (MITB) said the new system would enable most of local television channels to be accessed in far-flung areas.
A private media organization, he said had made remarkable progress in the country with 35 television channels and 64 radio stations operating in the capital Kabul alone. Some 54 television channels and 160 radio stations are functional in rests of the provinces, he informed.
