KABUL (Pajhwok): Fourteen police officials have been detained on charges of committing different crimes, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Monday.
MoI spokesman Siddiqui Siddique told reporters in Kabul the ministry’s crime branch and intelligence officials had been directed to keep an eye on police personnel involved in suspicious activities.
As a result of the vigil, he said, 14 policemen had been arrested for having links with rebels, bribery and misappropriation of food stuff and power abuse, he added.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Abdul Hakim Najrabi, the investigation department head at the MoI, said another 65 police officers had either been punished or introduced to the attorney office after they were found guilty of trivial crimes.
