MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Two employees of the customs department have been killed and four others wounded in an overnight traffic accident in northern Faryab province, an official said on Thursday.
The car of a customs officer collided with a Hilux vehicle belonging to a road construction company on the Aqina-Andkhoi highway, resulting in the two deaths and injuries to four others.
Sultan Sanjar, the district head, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the customs manager’s driver and three road workers were taken to hospital. The driver is said to be in critical condition.
Mohammad Rasoul, a road construction company employee, said one portion of the highway was under construction and vehicles had pass through a narrow road.
In the last two weeks, two people including a woman lost their lives in traffic accidents on the Andkhoi-Dawlatabad highway in Faryab. Ten others, including children, sustained injuries.
