GHAZNI CITY (PAN fighters were killed during a clash with a joint Afghan-international security force in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Wednesday.
The insurgents were killed in the Kabuli area of Andar district late on Tuesday night, the governor’s spokesman, Mohammad Maroof Ayubi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said that bodies of the militants were still lying at the site of the clash. The combined force suffered no casualties.
But a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, denied the rebel casualties, saying that several foreign soldiers were killed in the engagement.
Afghan and foreign troops recently conducted a joint military operation codenamed Khanjar (dagger) in insecure areas of the southern province.
