QALAT (PAN): The National Solidarity Programme (NSP), aimed at poverty reduction and bringing marginalised social groups to the mainstream, would be extended across southern Zabul province, an official said on Tuesday.
The programme would be extended to all districts of the province this year, said Rural Rehabilitation and Development Director Engineer Rahim.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News additional funds had been injected into the programme to complete ongoing development schemes in the province.
However, a resident of Arghandab district, Nazar Mohammad, said no development plans had so far been executed in the district.
He added residents were compelled to travel to foreign countries for lack of employment. He said unemployment had left the youth with no option but to join militant groups.
