KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven militants and three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed and another nine insurgents injured during separate clashes in central Kapisa and northern Baghlan provinces, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
The casualties occurred during the past 24 hours in Kapisa’s Tagab district and in Dand Shahabuddin area of Baghlan’s capital, the ministry said in a statement.
Without providing further details, the defence ministry said some weapons and ammunition were also confiscated by security forces during operations in the two areas.
The Taliban have so far said nothing about the operation in Dand Shahabuddin area, but they claimed killing one national and one local police personnel and taking away their weapons in Baghlan’s Markazi Baghlan district.
The rebels also claimed they had repulsed an attack by government forces in Darqad bridge area of Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan.
