18 insurgents killed in Paktika airstrikes

SHARANA (Pajhwok): NATO militants in Barmal district of southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Thursday.

Most of the slain individuals were residents of Pakistan’s tribal region of Wazirstan, who had crossed the border into Paktika, a security official said on the condition of anonymity.

However, a resident of the district, Ahmad Wazir, said three civilian were killed in Wednesday night’s airstrike in Chakhori Ada area.

The governor’s spokesman, Nabiullah Pirkhel, confirmed the air raids, but he had no information about casualties.

The Taliban have so far said nothing regarding the bombardments.
