KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday called the death of two Afghan diplomats in a traffic accident in neighboring Turkmenistan as an irreparable loss to the ministry.
Shafiqullah Shafaq and Ahmad Farsi died on Wednesday in an accident in Meru city. A statement from the MoFA said Shafaq was 1st secretary and acting consul-general in the Meru and Farsi was 3rd secretary there.
It said Shafaq had served in many positions over the past 14 years, including at MoFA and Afghanistan’s embassy in Cairo. Ahmad Farsi has been an employee of MoFA for five years.
The MoFA lamented on the sudden death of the diplomats and called it an irrecoverable loss. MoFA extended its condolences to their families. Their bodies will be brought home soon.
