FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A kidnapped child is shown in a video clip innocently crying and says he will die if not rescued, local officials in western Farah province said on Sunday.
Police have launched an operation to find the location of the child and rescue him.
A video clip shows hands of the kidnapped child are tied behind his back and his clothes except his underwear have been taken off.
The crying child says, “I love you mother, I am afraid, I am dying, please rescue me.”
Farah deputy police chief, Col. Mohammad Ghaws Malyar, identified the child as Naveed and told Pajhwok Afghan News the six-year-old was kidnapped by unidentified men from 3rd police district of Farah city.
The child was kidnapped in the middle of Taliban coordinated attacks on Farah city about a month ago, he said.
Naveed was playing with other children when unknown armed men suddenly took him to a car and kidnapped him, Malyar said. He said security organs were struggling to rescue the child from his kidnappers.
