KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A newly-constructed 100-meter long bridge was inaugurated in southeastern Khost province on Monday.

The bridge that connects Trizu locality with the center of Ali Sher district cost 82 million afghanis provided by the Ministry of Public Works, said Khost governor Hukam Khan Habibi.

He said the eight-meter wide bridge took one year to complete and it would resolve social problems of the strategic district and enable people to easy access their daily works.

Tribal elder Mukhtaruddin Jalalzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the newly constructed bridge would solve their problems. “This is very important bridge for both civilians and security forces.”         

A local resident, Habib Rahman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the budget was the first mega project implemented in Ali Sher district. “We ask the government to implement more such projects in our area.”

Ali Sher district is located 30km away from the provincial capital, Khost City, and shares border with Kurram tribal region of Pakistan.
