SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Six Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel and three Taliban have been killed during a clash in the Sayyad district of northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Saturday.
Governor Mohammad Zahir Wahdat told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed a security check-post in the Toblaq area of the district late on Friday night. At least six ALP men and three militants were killed.
He said the ALP post remained under Taliban’s control and the three-hour firefight. However, it was retaken after the arrival of reinforcements in the area.
Samiullah, a resident of the locality, confirmed the death of six policemen. However, he did not provide details about insurgent casualties.
