FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A former member of the provincial council has been killed along with two associates in a Taliban province, an official said on Wednesday.
Abdul Hayee Khatibi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked the Malang village of the Chaharsadda district late on Tuesday night.
He said Haji Ghulam Yahya, former public representative and commander of pro-government forces, was killed along with two bodyguards. Two others were wounded in the assault.
Fighting was underway in the area and Taliban also suffered casualties, the official said, without giving specific figures. The Taliban have not yet commented.
