KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan commando forces killed four civilians, including a father and his two sons, during a nighttime operation in the Batikot district of eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said on Friday.
Two children were injured in the raid that took place last night in Lorthi area, a government official said on the condition of anonymity. He said the victims included Tahir, his two sons and a nephew.
The commando forces also detained another four members of the same family.
The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, confirmed the operation and the casualties, but offered no details. It comes days after the commando forces killed nine people, including an Afghan local police commander and relatives of the Meshrano Jirga chairman Fazl Hadi Muslimyar in Chaparhar district.
Khogyani said a delegation from Kabul had launched its investigation into the Chaparhar incident, but result of the probe is yet to be announced.
