KABUL and Uzbekistan have held talks on an action plan for the implementation of Tashkent Conference decisions, the National Security Council (NSC) said on Friday.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Hanif Atmar led a high-level delegation to the neighbouring country for discussions on key issues, including economic links and security cooperation.
In a meeting with Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, Atmar thanked regional initiatives, including the Tashkent Conference, for establishing durable peace in Afghanistan.
Both sides shared views on implementation of the decisions taken at the Tashkent conference and decided on developing an action plan to implement future programmes.
A statement from NSC said the participants reviewed progress on economic and security cooperation between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
The delegation thanked the Uzbek government for humanitarian contribution toward helping drought-affected Afghans -- a gesture deeply appreciated by rural communities in Afghanistan.
