Janikhel district administrative chief killed in Taliban attack

SHARAN (Pajhwok): The Taliban have shot dead district chief of the Janikhel district of southeastern Paktika province on Wednesday, an official said.

Governor Spokesman Mohammad-ur-Rahman told Pajhwok Afghan News District Chief Mohammad Naeem was shot dead by the Taliban at his door step at around 5:00pm.

Ajmal, the resident of Janikhel district, said Naeem’s house was in Khairkot district where he was killed by the armed men.

Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the killing of Janikhel district chief.

Situated to the west of Paktika, Janikhel is one of the insecure districts of restive province.
